Terms of Service

1. Acceptance

By using Ghostflation ("the Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. The Service is operated by Emoria Inc.

2. Description of Service

Ghostflation is a personal inflation tracker that helps users monitor grocery prices, compare their personal inflation rate to national CPI data, detect shrinkflation, and find the best deals.

3. Accounts

You must provide a valid email address to create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service.

4. Subscription Plans

Ghostflation offers free and paid subscription tiers. Paid plans (Pro and Family) are billed monthly in Canadian Dollars (CAD). Prices are subject to change with 30 days notice.

  • Free: 5 receipt scans per month, basic dashboard
  • Pro ($4.99/mo CAD): 50 scans, full analytics, price alerts, grocery list
  • Family ($9.99/mo CAD): 200 scans, household sharing (up to 5 members)

5. Payment and Refunds

Payments are processed by Stripe. Subscriptions auto-renew monthly. You can cancel at any time through the Settings page. Refunds may be issued at our discretion within 14 days of charge.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Upload fraudulent or fabricated receipt images
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer or scrape the Service
  • Use the Service for commercial resale without permission
  • Abuse the API or attempt to circumvent rate limits
  • Upload content that violates any law

7. Data Accuracy

Ghostflation provides inflation estimates based on receipt data and government CPI statistics. These are estimates only and should not be relied upon for financial decisions. We do not guarantee the accuracy of OCR-extracted prices, CPI data, or inflation calculations.

8. Intellectual Property

The Ghostflation name, logo, and app design are property of Emoria Inc. You retain ownership of your receipt data. Aggregated, anonymized data derived from user receipts may be used for statistical analysis.

9. Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. Emoria Inc. is not liable for any damages arising from use of the Service, including but not limited to loss of data, inaccurate calculations, or service interruptions.

10. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. You may delete your account at any time through the Settings page or by contacting us.

11. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Alberta, Canada. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Calgary, Alberta.
